A 27 sqm studio on the fourth floor with elevator access, in Paris's 16th arrondissement, organized by an interior architect around a single principle: freeing up circulation by aligning the kitchen along one wall, in a single matte block that never intrudes on the room. The 3.10 m ceiling under cornice gives the volume a breadth its footprint would not suggest, and the seamless cast light resin floor bounces light all the way to the far wall, without break or step.

The dual east and south exposure, over an open courtyard, installs a constant, quiet light, filtered through small-paned original windows fitted with secondary glazing: the charm of the original design without its thermal or acoustic drawbacks. Full height storage, a foldaway bed and a custom desk free up every square meter for living rather than furniture. A shower room with walk-in shower completes a plan designed to be lived in without a second thought.
