Light, Filtered Before It Enters

In Lyon, this contemporary villa occupies an enclosed, landscaped plot, sheltered from any overlook. The white rendered facade is punctuated by a hardwood timber screen that acts as a sunshade on the most exposed openings: light never enters raw, it is already tempered before reaching the rooms. The double height entrance opens onto a through reception room that distributes the entire ground floor toward the terrace and garden.

Nine rooms, six bedrooms including two suites, three bathrooms: the scale gives everyone their own distance, without ever turning the house into a maze. Large format stoneware floors unify the volumes, while acoustic ceilings in the living room absorb the sound of an evening that runs long. Comfort adjusts itself without a thought, between a cooling underfloor heating system and home automation for lighting and shutters. Outside, the heated pool extends the house to the edge of the garden, in a silence entirely preserved by the surrounding wall.
